FestFinder is an independent directory of US outdoor festivals, fairs, and community gatherings. We cover music festivals, food festivals, state and county fairs, cultural and heritage celebrations, arts and crafts shows, indie film festivals, neighborhood block parties, and seasonal holiday programming.
What we cover
Our beat is anything that happens outdoors and brings people together in public space. That covers the obvious — Coachella, the Iowa State Fair, Mardi Gras, the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta — but also the long tail of community gatherings that define the rest of the calendar in any given American city. A summer concert series in a downtown park. A pumpkin patch festival on a working farm in October. A weekend Cinco de Mayo celebration on a closed-off block. The Polish heritage festival the same weekend every year at the parish hall on the east side. We treat all of those as equally worth a place on the calendar.
How we organize the site
Every event lives at a stable URL under /events/<slug> and is cross-linked from a city page, a state page, a category page, and a month page. Every internal link on FestFinder leads somewhere real — there are no placeholder pages and no dead ends. The site is rendered as plain HTML on every request, so it works on slow connections, in low-bandwidth environments, and inside curl. We do not require JavaScript for any core functionality.
How we source data
We aggregate from public event-listing APIs and supplement with a curated dataset of long-running annual American festivals. The seed data is rebuilt periodically. Each event page includes a clear note encouraging visitors to confirm dates with the official festival before traveling — schedules change, weather happens, and the official source is always authoritative.
How we are funded
FestFinder is ad-supported. Sponsored placements are clearly labeled and never influence our editorial judgement of which events to include or how they are described. We do not sell tickets, take affiliate commissions, or charge festival organizers for inclusion.
